Alberta Food Tours: finalist for 2016 Best Culinary Tourism Experience in Canada by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada!
We are continuously rated five stars by our guests on Trip Advisor. Jonview, Discover Holidays and Rocky Mountaineer are already including our food tours in their itineraries. We are export ready and committed to the development of long-term relationships with our travel trade partners and our mutually served guests.
What happens on a tour?
We lead walking/tasting food tours in neighbourhoods filled with great food businesses. Our guests spend about three hours sampling the very best local food and beverages. We also share stories of the art, architecture and history so our guests come away feeling connected to the culture of the cities we operate in – Calgary, Canmore and Edmonton – Alberta, Canada.
Tours are approximately three hours long and include food and drink tastings at several locations that specialize in handmade, locally-prepared artisanal foods of the highest quality. Depending on the tour there may be six to eight tastings with a small bite to a full course at each stop. The food adds up to a very ample and satisfying meal. Professionally trained tour leaders tell entertaining stories about each of the neighbourhoods visited. Guests gain an understating of the area’s history, art and culture and have the opportunity to meet locals. A branded keepsake is included. Food and drink samples, tax and gratuities at all locations are included in the ticket price. Gratuities for the tour leaders are at the discretion of the guests.
Do you pay commission or offer a net rate?
Yes, we pay a commission to receptive tour operators and travel agents on all our products.
Do you offer tours for f.i.t. as well as groups?
Yes – we do.
Where are the tours located and is transportation included?
All tours are within walking distance from most downtown hotels. Transportation is not included in the rate however; we are happy to work with our local partners to provide transportation options to be billed directly to the operator. For larger groups, we can arrange a guide to meet at your hotel and escort the group to the start location.
How do we make reservations?
F.I.T. bookings can be made directly on our online booking system. For private or customized tours, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for itineraries and availability. Receptive operators and tour operators can book online also. We will provide a special discount code that reflects your correct net/commission.
Can you provide information we can use in our promotional materials?
Yes, we can send you a short descriptor of each tour and we encourage you to use the copy and all social media tags.
Do you have an image gallery we can access?
Yes we have an image gallery. Please contact email@example.com for the latest updates.
What are your terms & conditions?
All groups must book at least two weeks in advance to qualify for group rates and to ensure availability of dates and guides. Payment is due upon arrival unless other arrangements have been made. Minimums & maximums?
If a tour is scheduled, we run it even if one person signs up. We are open for business when we say we are. The maximum size for each group is 14. We can accommodate larger groups by adding additional tour leaders and starting at different points on the tour.
Are custom tours available?
Yes, we can create a tour to suit your budget and timeframe. Additional fees may apply for administration time but we love the chance to show you what else we can do!
Do you have specific dates of operation?
We run a full schedule of tours from May to October and weekend tours in the winter months November to April. We are closed in December through February for a public schedule but are available for private bookings at that time.
