New COVID-19 Protocols
Safety is our first priority at Alberta Food Tours. We have returned to (smaller group) in-person food tours starting in September, 2020. Below is an outline of all of our protocols to ensure we keep you safe while you eat, engage, and explore Alberta with us.
Bubble/s: A group of people that are part of a COVID-19 cohort and are regularly in close contact with each other.
Reduced Group Sizes
In-person food tours will be no more than six people. Upon request, we may offer tours for up to eight guests who are part of the same bubble.
Social Distancing Measures
The tour guide will maintain two metres distance from guests at all times. Each bubble of guests will maintain two metres distance from each other at all times. We’ll make sure there is space for our guests to distance while we are walking and storytelling. We’ll also ensure you are seating at least two metres away from other guests that are not part of your bubble.
Health and Travel Requirements for Tour Participants and Tour Guide
24 hours prior to tours, all guests will receive a detailed COVID-19 screening form. Any guests that are in quarantine, have had a close exposure, have any symptoms, or have travelled internationally with 14 days will be required to rebook their tour for a later date, at no cost.
Our guide will also undergo a screening procedure prior to each tour, and will be replaced should they have any concerns.
Your guide will wear a mask while touring and in public spaces. The guide may remove their mask while they are seated two metres away from all guests
Guests will be required to wear a mask while indoors. Guests may remove their masks once they are seated at the table to eat. Specific restaurant or facility policies apply to all Alberta Food Tours’ guests.
Alberta Food Tours’ guides will have a limited supply of disposable masks in case a guest forgets a mask.
We will allow time for guests to wash their hands prior to dining. If a hand washing station is not available, hand sanitizer will be.
We require all of our guests and guides to follow proper respiratory etiquette including coughing or sneezing into the crook of the elbow (when masks are removed).
No food or utensils will be shared between people within bubbles. This includes containers of condiments, family-style bowls or plates of food, shared charcuterie platters, etc. There will be no self-serve foods.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions at all about our COVID-19 policies.
