A Spicy Touch – Family Favourites from Noorbanu Nimji’s Kitchen was recently launched and today was noted as one of the top cookbooks of 2015 in The Calgary Herald’s Cooking the Books – Cream of the Crop piece by Gwendolyn Richards.
Alberta Food Tours, Inc. founder, president and CEO, Karen Anderson worked nine years with her mentor Noorbanu Nimji to create this 320 page, hard cover, full colour collection of the Nimji family’s favourite recipes. There are over 200 and many are gluten-free and/or vegetarian.
The production team consisted of photographer Pauli-Ann Carriere of Vancouver, food styling consultant Julie Van Rosendaal of Calgary, layout, art direction and indexing by Nina Palmer and Todd Macfie of Platform Design in Calgary, editing by Tilly Sanchez of Calgary and portrait photography by Jeremy Fokkens of Calgary. The book is self-published. It was print and bound in Altona, Manitoba by Friesens Corporation.
