Our Covid-19 Plan

Dear friends,

To be in small business, you’ve got to be positive and go after your vision. But, you’ve also got to stay in REAL time and be empowered to deal with what’s coming at you.

We have temporarily suspended all Alberta Food Tours‘ touring operations. Our gatherings are always small but they require meeting in public places where social distancing standards might be challenging. We want to do our bit to flatten the curve of COVID-19 spread. When the time is right to re-open, our community will be the first to know.

Although we are not running tours at this time, we are still fulfilling our purpose – to make sure you know how to #EatAlbertaFirst, and support our local farmers, chefs, and food artisans. We’re doing this in a few ways:

  • Check our Instagram and Facebook feeds and stories for all the ways you can support Alberta‘s independent food businesses and food artisans at this crucial time.
  • We’ve created a list of Alberta Food Artisans you can support right here on this blog.
  • Sign-up for our newsletter for heartwarming stories about our partners who need your support during this time.

You can also expect lots of fun and useful content to keep you going while we all Stay at Home. Be sure to tune into Instagram for #TastyTuesdays – we’ll share an easy and fun recipe each week. We’ll also be adding exciting new features for gardeners and activities for families.

YOU can also become part of the solution! Please send an email to social@albertafoodtours.ca or DM us on social media with local businesses that need our support. Share how they are going above and beyond to feed and care for Albertans and we’ll add them to our feeds and posts. The virus will go away. Our small businesses need to STAY.

Finally, you can support our small business through the purchase of Gift Certificates (delivered directly to your inbox). To thank you for that support, please use the code RECOVERY20, for a preferred rate of 20 per cent off at the checkout.

Thank you for your support!

Let’s stay strong, #EATALBERTAFIRST and look forward to a happy reunion. We will EAT, ENGAGE and EXPLORE Alberta again soon!

With kindness,

Karen Anderson,
President and CEO
Alberta Food Tours, Inc.
