A new partner for our Canmore Tasting Trail in 2018 – the Carter-Ryan gallery

Spending time with Jason Carter and Bridget Ryan is a breath of fresh air. Carter is a painter, sculptor and graphic artist. He practices his art seven days a week. Ryan is a singer, writer, actor, producer and TV host. Together they are respectful, fun and energizing. I met them at a tourism conference and fell in love with their passion and willingness to experiment and collaborate. In Carter’s artist statement he says, “In the world we live in, there is much to be cynical about, but I have found an outlet that I, myself, gather much joy and light, and am so fortunate to be able to pass that joy on.” He also says, “I am aware that much of my craft comes from an innate ability that I have been born with, and believe this to be a…

Canmore Uncorked – an annual celebration of Canmore’s incredible food culture

Canmore Uncorked is a bit like Christmas. There’s 12 days of fabulous festivities. Only instead of all those maids a milking and lords a leaping, there’s set price menus, free tasting experiences, a whiskey, wine and beer festival, progressive dinners, cooking classes, and of course, our own Canmore Food Tours’ behind the scenes food tours (more about those soon).   My name is Callandra Caufield and I’m the operations manager at Alberta Food Tours, Inc. I was raised in Canmore and I love this town. Canmore Uncorked started in 2014 and I’ve had the pleasure of participating since inception. Though it’s tempting, I can tell you first hand, it’s impossible to experience everything this festival has to offer. Because most of us have limited time (and waist bands) for the festival, I’m going to share my “must eat” list of Canmore Uncorked…

Canmore Food Tours is featured on “On The Road Canada” Tough Rides with Ryan Pyle

We are thrilled to be part of an incredible web series called On The Road Canada with Ryan Pyle and Lu Fei. Ryan Pyle is famous for his Tough Rides and Extreme Treks brands and in this gruelling adventure he and his sidekick Lu road motorcycles across Canada from Newfoundland to Tofino on Vancouver Island. They even ventured North to the Arctic. We were able to share a little more cushy adventure when they stopped off in Canmore to enjoy some of Alberta’s finest food on our Canmore Tasting Trail food tour. Our partners El Gaucho and PD3 byBlake are featured in the video. The whole town looks spectacular and after our tour, they also quenched their thirst at The Grizzly Paw Brewing Company. Check out the fun video above. If you are lucky enough to live here, it will make you…

Edmonton Examiner article: Calgary Food Tours expansion to Alberta Food Tours Inc.

Here’s a great article published in The Edmonton Examiner about our expansion to become Alberta Food Tours Inc. with divisions in Calgary, Canmore and Edmonton in 2016. We were very grateful to have set a crowd-funding record to support our expansion via ATB’s Alberta BoostR platform. We raised $22,105.00 in 45 days due to the…
