Summer Fun in Edmonton
Here’s a list of Summer Fun in Edmonton for those visting the capital this season. And, even better, most of these activities are affordable for families.
- Check out River Valley Adventure Co for bike or paddle board rentals to explore Edmonton’s river valley.
- Visit the Royal Albert Museum this summer to observe Alberta’s unique cultural heritage through local artists.
- Share a Twighlight Picnic Experience with a loved one at the University of Alberta Botanic Gardens. You can enjoy live entertainment and a gourmet picnic box for two.
- Ride the High LevelBridge Streetcar into downtown and stroll through the museum to learn more about the history of the Canadian Pacific Railway.
- Great news! The 104th Street Market is back. Every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., you can pick up locally grown produce at the city’s original market that’s one year older than the city!
- Take a FREE tour of Alberta’s Legislature and learn more about Alberta’s governance, legislative traditions, and the art and architecture of the building.
- Stroll the bakeries and coffee shops of the 124 Street area. From the Duchess Bake Shop to Delavoye Chocolate and the Art of Cake, walking will help counter all the calories you’ll consume.
- Immerse in the Indigenous People’s Experience at Fort Edmonton Park. It’s a chance to explore the diversity of First Nations and Metis Peoples’ histories, cultures, and experiences in the region.
- Remember, Edmonton’s tagline is “city of festivals.” There’s over 50 each year. From Shakespeare to Jamaican Jerk, there’s something for everyone in summer and year round. One of our favourites, Taste of Edmonton, runs from July 18 to 28. See the complete summer festival lineup here.
- Take an Alberta Food Tour through the Old Strathcona District. Join our local guides for brunch plus a handful of other food stops and learn more about its history, art, and architecture. This tour is also available for private groups of 8 or more. Inquire here.
