  • Duration: 2 hours with no stops (but we highly recommend taking longer so you can enjoy stopping to shop and eat along the way).
  • Group Size: Groups of 1 to 4 gamers can play Alberta Food Finder on one device OR several teams on several devices can challenge each other.
  • Start Time: Suggested game times to capture the most businesses open: Tuesday to Saturday noon to 6 p.m

Technology required to play: a data-enabled mobile device with Android 5.1 and higher or iOS version 9.1 and higher.

Welcome.

The Alberta Food Finder is Canada’s first self-guided food tour delivered on your GPS-enabled mobile device. We’ve been researching Alberta’s food scene for over 15 years and this game shares all our favourite spots along with bite-size stories of history, art and food artisans.

How it works:

The Alberta Food Finder game is a GPS-enabled quest delivered on your mobile device. You pay for it here on our site. Your game code is emailed immediately. You download a free app called “Loquiz”. Then, you start by simply entering your team name and members (you can have up to 4 team members per device).

Gameplay:

Get ready for your Alberta Food Finder quest! Clues to help you complete your mission will pop up on a map of the area where your quest is located. Once you complete each clue, the next will appear. There’s usually about 30 clues. The clues and commentary lead you through a tour of restaurants and food specialty shops as well as local history, art and culture stops. Some of our independent Alberta business partners have prepared Alberta Food Finder ONLY samples for you to try. At others you’ll enjoy exclusive discounts and promos. To finish your quest, and be an Alberta Food Finder hero, you’ll need to answer all of the clues so stay sharp out there!
