15 Alberta Garlic Growers

Here is our 2026 list of Alberta Garlic Growers.  Hard-neck garlic thrives here. Warning: once you’ve tasted this local garlic, there’s no going back! These garlic farms are listed from North to South in the province.

1. The Homestead – Located in Goodfare, Alberta and selling to Grand Prairie and Peace Country, owners Lisa Lundgard and Donovan Kitt are organic growers.
2. Fifth Gen Gardens – Grower Kristin Graves is famous for her Garlic Goddess Dip and Smoked Black Garlic. Located near Wetaskiwin, you can order online and do order her book, The Garlic Companion. It’s brilliant.
3. Allium Acres – Near Rocky Mountain House, Renee and Darcy Murin offer 20 varieties of garlic and many dried products.
4. Deep Roots Farm – Located near Lacombe and with their own farm gate store, the Visscher family plants more garlic each year.
5. Meadow Creek Farms – Grower Mandy Melnyk is one of Alberta’s most northerly farms, and she prides herself on supplying the people of the North. Enjoy their Persian Star garlic’s strong flavour.
6. Prairie Garlic Farm – Eric Piasta and his family grow over 80,000 heads of garlic each year on their farm near Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. Check them out.
7. Good Garlic Company – Oshust Farms is a fifth-generation family farm located just an hour outside of Edmonton growing garlic and beautifully packaging it.
8. Garlic Goodness – In Red Deer County, Lorraine and Kevin Bannister grow six varieties of hard-neck garlic.
9. The Jungle Farm – Grown on raised beds, pesticide free, this fresh Alberta garlic is ready by mid-August each year.
10. Forge & Farm – Cheryl Greisinger won a Made in Alberta award for her delicious Black Garlic grown in Millarville.
11. Kipp Garlic – Located near Lethbridge, this family started specializing in garlic in 2020 and hopes to convert their whole farm.
12. Rocky Range Farm – Russian Red, Nordic, Italian Purple, Spanish Roja: so many kinds of garlic from this family farm near Calgary in Rockyview County.
13. Busy Bea’s Market Garden – Near Fort McLeod, Trevor Aleman and his family grow garlic.
14. Gutsy Garlic  – This Taber, Alberta farm uses hand-selected seeds and irrigates with clear water runoff from the Rockies to ensure excellence.
