Food Artisans of Alberta – Calgary’s Decadent Dessert’s Pam Fortier and her coconut cupcakes

This is a coconut cupcake from Decadent Desserts and it’s got our vote as one of the best things to eat in Alberta.

Owner Pam Fortier started making these especially for Calgary Food Tours because she knows how much we love the giant version that is a full-on layer cake. Both cake and cupcake are filled with a coconut pastry cream that is straight from heaven. The cake is moist and never falls apart. The icing is buttercream and you can see from this photo that the coconut flakes are long and better than anything we’ve ever found in a grocery store.

If you are going to eat a dessert that is this decadent, it’s has to be of a quality that will stop you in your tracks and make you savour every morsel. This cupcake is that good.
