10 Best Hotel Bars in Alberta

Brunch Blog copy 2

We have sought and found the 10 best hotel bars in Alberta.  These are great spots to make new friends or gather with old ones. Enjoy a cocktail or mocktail and soak up the ambiance of these 10 beloved Alberta bars.

Rundle Bar in the Fairmont Banff Springs – Stunning views in a timeless setting.  The Rundle Bar is always on our list. The house made potato chips and bison tartare are our faves here along with the signature Wildflour cocktail.

Fonda Fora in Westley Hotel – Located in one of Calgary’s chicest hotels, the bar at Fonda Fora is your spot for Calgary’s best margaritas.

Alchemy in the JW Marriott Experience handcrafted cocktails and elevated bar with a view of the Ice District in downtown Edmonton.

Freestyle Social Club at the Hotel Arts – South Beach comes to Calgary in this laid-back resort-esque lounge.  They also have golf simulators and an indoor pool nearby so you can really feel like you’re away on vacay.

The Larkspur at the Rimrock Resort – This is the perfect spot to curl up in front of a roaring fire with a seasonal cocktail or frosty pint of Alberta draft beer after a full day of winter adventures.

The Wilde at the Dorian Hotel– On the 27th Floor of one of Calgary’s newest boutique hotels, you will find a late-night DJ and an unrivalled cocktail menu.

Blacktail Bar at the Pomeroy Kananaskis Lodge Blacktail Bar is a modern mountain lounge that showcases handcrafted cocktails and delicious regional beers. It’s especially great following a day of relaxation in the Knordic Spa attached to the hotel.

Fairview Bar at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise – Currently under renovation, we can’t wait to see how they upgrade this spot.  The arched windows overlooking Lake Louise afford one of the best views in the world. Karen’s favourite here is The Moscow Mule.

Hearthstone Lounge in the Forest Park Hotel – Enjoy Espresso Martinis by the fire after a day of exploring in Jasper or on the slopes at Marmot Basin.

Juniper Bistro at the Juniper Hotel – Panoramic views of the Bow Valley from the base of Mt. Norquay, this is one of our favourite cozy mountain hideaways. The bar here has a mammoth stone fireplace and the food of chef Catherine Bohn in the Bistro will be a fantastic finish to your day in the jewel of the Rockies.
